Individual clients: $180 per session (60 minutes) Couples and family therapy: $230 per session (60 minutes)
Payment is due on the day of the session. I provide an immediate receipt.
My preference is that all payments are made by etransfer.
Major credit cards are accepted but please note that the bank charges a 4% credit card processing fee. This 4% bank fee is separate from my own service fees and is paid by the client.
I reserve a few sessions per month on a sliding fee scale for clients who are unable to pay full fees. Please contact Mike directly by email to inquire if space is available ([email protected]).
Insurance and Employee Benefits
Psychotherapy is not covered by Ontario's provincial health coverage (OHIP), but many third-party insurance plans or employee benefits may reimburse fees. Mike is an approved provider through Medavie Blue Cross and Health Claims for Auto Insurance (HCAI), both of which pay for services directly. For other insurance providers, clients pay at the time of the session and submit receipts for reimbursement. Uninsured services may also be claimed as a medical expense on your income tax.
Mike's practice is supervised by a Registered Psychologist. Upon request, a receipt co-signed by Mike and the supervising Psychologist is available for third-party insurance providers who cover only Psychologist (but not Psychotherapist) fees.
Cancellations
For sessions cancelled less than 24 hours in advance, the full cost of the session may be charged.
